The chef

 

Umberto Creatini was born in Castagneto Carducci. He graduated in 1972 at the hotel school of Chianciano Terme. He worked in Italy, England, Belgium, France, Austria, Germany, Holland, Sweden, Norway, Russia, India, Japan, Dubai. He has done a thorough research work over the cuisine of the Maremma, realizing as co-author “The Code of the Livornese cuisine”. During the “Week of Tuscan culture” in Malmö he was chosen, between 8 famous Tuscan chefs, to prepare a lunch in honor of the King of Sweden at the castle of Malmö. The chef has received the personal congratulations of the King in this occasion. From 1994 to 1998 he directed the restaurant “8 ½” of the Cultural Center “Espace Kiron” in Paris, from 1999 to 2005 he lectured on technique and culinary history of local cuisine, at the State Hotel Institute in Castiglioncello (LI) and at the Technical Institute "Marco Polo" in Cecina (LI). He has also participated in television broadcasts in Italy and Russia.
